The Beginning
What if charity could build systems instead of just writing checks? What if every dollar donated created infrastructure that kept giving back, year after year?
Mohamed Sayed saw a gap in the Muslim nonprofit landscape: too many organizations were stuck in a cycle of one-off donations with no compounding effect. He envisioned something different — a foundation that builds farms, businesses, technology, and community infrastructure that grows stronger over time.

Umma Foundation was built on a core principle: sustainable impact requires sustainable infrastructure. Instead of just delivering aid, we build the systems that deliver aid — farms that produce food, restaurants that fund meals, technology that connects communities.

Foundation Established
Mohamed Sayed registers Umma Foundation as a 501(c)(3) nonprofit, driven by the belief that communities deserve sustainable systems of support.
2022
Umma Relief Launches
Emergency relief operations begin across the Middle East and Africa, delivering food, medical aid, and shelter to families in crisis.
2023
Hope Bus & UMMA Farm
Hope Bus rolls out in New York City serving hot meals. UMMA Farm secures 8,000 acres in Egypt for sustainable agriculture.
2024
Yala Restaurant & Umma App
Yala Restaurant opens as a 100% nonprofit eatery. Umma App launches to connect Muslim communities worldwide.
2025
NexGen & Umma Studio
Youth empowerment through NexGen and content creation via Umma Studio expand the foundation's reach and impact.
